SAP was founded in 1972 as Systemanalyse und progammentwicklung in Mannheim,Badenwurttemberg by following five former IBM engineers:
1.Dietmar Hopp
2.Hans-Werner Hector
3.Hasso Plattner
4.Klaus Tschira
5.Claus Wellenreuther
The acronym was later changed to stand for Systeme,Anwendungen und Produkte in der Datenverarbeitung ( "Systems, Applications and Products in Data Processing")
